Whole Wheat Cake

Whole wheat cake is perfect for special occasions or as a unique gift, but making something with it for a loved one is even better. If you're someone who thinks that roses are cliché on Valentine's day, we hear you and we're going to show you how you can reinvent the conventional maida cake with whole wheat & no eggs. Enjoy it with your gal pals, besties or special someone on every occasion.

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup sprouted wheat flour 
  • 1/2 cup jaggery
  • 1/4 spoon baking soda 
  • 1/4 spoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sour curd/ yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbs Homemade butter
  • Almonds to garnish
  • Vanilla essence 2 drops

 

 

METHOD

In a bowl add curd and baking powder & soda and mix well till it raises double.

Add butter at room temperature and mix well it till get gets completely incorporated.

Add jaggery to this and mix well till it melts, now add wheat flour and mix well.

You can now add the Vanilla, Milk and mix well. Grease the cake tray with butter & pour the cake batter into it. Garnish with Almonds.

Pre-heat the oven or cooker as per your oven settings & bake at 180 degrees for 30mins. Cool down the cake and serve with chai.
